In September 1983, at the Sunday evening Mass at St Christopher’s Cathedral, Fr Ken invited parishioners to come forward for prayer after the homily.
Fr Ken recalls, “Rather timidly, I suggested that maybe someone or other might like to come forward for prayer, thinking probably no one would respond. To my everlasting surprise, three-quarters of the congregation catapulted out to the front.”
Over the past forty years, thousands of people have experienced this Mass awakening their hearts to the love of God and changing their lives to be more aligned to his ways. It has been a catalyst in the lives of many young people who found a new experience of a personal relationship with Jesus and a new enthusiasm to witness of his love to others.
Congratulations to St Benedict's Parish and Mission Centre for 40 years of Charismatic Mass in Canberra.
