Our parishes of St Benedict's and St Scholastica's in our Melbourne Mission have a particular focus in 2024 on developing a culture of discipleship. We started the year with a discipleship training weekend, which offered key parish leaders the opportunity to reflect on our call to make disciples and offered practical suggestions for how we can do this in our everyday lives.
In 2023, we also received a growing number of enquiries from other parishes, who were looking for advice and support in their own efforts of parish renewal. We are excited about the opportunity to continue supporting the broader church in this way, and we have a vision for expanding this outreach to parishes in the coming year.
We had a feast day at St Scholastica's on the 11th of February. This was a Mass that celebrated the cultural diversity of our community as parishioners dressed in their culture dress and participated in the liturgy in various ways common to their cultures.
