1 Kgs 18: 41-46          God can make himself present to us in a myriad of different ways. This story tells us not to lock God into doing things the way we might want or expect him to act. We need to allow God to be God. In that way he will be able to direct the work of the Gospel according to his will rather than our own limited understandings and capacities. The Gospel will be better served if we let God make the calls of where we go and what we do.

Holy Spirit, you have been sent to us in order to lead and guide us in the ways of truth. Help me to follow where you lead.

Mt 5: 20-26     Relationships have been and always will be important for the proclamation of the Gospel. God is a relational God ad we are relational people. It is important to remember this when we are working together in the service of the Gospel. Let us never forget that we will bear better fruit if we truly work together and not against one another!

Jesus, open my heart t o a deeper experience of your love for me so that I can make it the basis for my love for those with whom I work.
